Autumn leaves

Continuing this weeks theme of leaves and nature, I’ve sat and embroidered a little sampler of leaf designs, not sure when they’ll come in handy but you never know.

Leaf it out!

I’ve been experimenting with water colours to try and bring more green and nature inside in the winter, they don’t take long to do, but look really effective against a white wall – my funny little brain likes to pretend its alchemy

#tolkientober Day 4: Forest

Even though I’m a few days late to post I’m really enjoying #tolkientober
Day 4: Forest – posting to catch up! The Forest of Fangorn lies on our doorstep (Painted with oil on canvas.) #LordOfTheRings #Nature

Number seven

I so don’t know why, but this always makes me smile. It’s a random paving slab in the middle of a field, but it’s a seven – which is of course a magic number. (or the field is #7!)

We may be on course to run out of food and/or petrol but at least we can have #FlowersOnFriday p.s – if you read this and you’re not in the the UK don’t panic!

Embroidered bumblebee

So I’ve had a bit of a crappy week, and to relax, get my brain into the right space and bee a little bit more zen I’ve sat quietly and embroidered myself a little bumble bee. Its all sewn free hand using a single strand of coloured floss at a time onto a natural (and excitingly eco friendly, recycled calico!) It’s been so lovely to study the photos of bees from the garden…as we have at least five types of bee I might sew one for each.

Bumble Bee

Wishing everyone a happy & safe Thursday. Here’s a bumble bee, in black and white. #savethebees #lovewildlife #MentalHealthMatters
